What to do when the going gets tough

November 26, 2013

abyss1I have made several decisions that involve growing my business and that is bound to have some effect. Stepping out of your comfort zone is never really comfortable, and neither was it this time for me. So what can you do when this happens to you?

When you come to this point in your business or life where you know you can’t go on the way things were. You are being called, sometimes forced, to do things differently. You can either embrace the change or resist it with all your might. And I know that resisting it or ignoring it is quite exhausting. I would not recommend that route. At all.

So my advice is twofold.

First, take a step back. You are in the midst of turmoil and feeling emotions, often triggered by fear of the unknown. This fear sends you spiraling down, taking your energy and mood down with it. You need to consciously step away from it to be able to break through it.

Call a friend, or your coach or mentor. Call someone who knows this place from experience. Someone who is able to help you through. Someone who will hold your hand, has your back, motivates you to continue. Someone who helps you see how far you have come already. (If you’re an entrepreneur please don’t call anyone who thinks you need to find a solid job, unless you like to crash in the abyss).

Second. Make the decision to continue anyway. Despite the fear. Despite the uncertainty, despite the fact that you have no idea how to find that new client, increase your income, invent that new program, create a new workshop, …… (fill in your challenge).

When you make the decision to continue and step forward regardless of the way you feel. When you recommit to your mission and doing what you came here to do, you will find that you DO have the resources, the support, the insights and the strength to carry on. And not only to carry on but to do so victoriously!

I know from experience that it can be difficult to integrate the changes we go through.

And that it is so much easier to continue with your to-do list than to take time out to fully integrate what is going on in and around you. And I also know the problems this causes in the long run: loss of energy, lack of focus, not being able to use your full energy and strength, not to mention irritation and frustration and the way that influences you and the people around you.

That is why I have created Healing Heaven: Two Spa Days for your Soul!
