The hidden energy drain in your skincare

September 6, 2022

Our energy is precious, and it’s such a waste when we get depleted by things we can prevent. As a sensitive soul I tend to notice all the little things that cost me energy.

As a result, I’ve compiled a list of Hidden Energy Drains in my book Radiant.

One of the important energy drains is skincare. It’s also one that’s easy to remedy, if you know what to look out for 🙂

The products you use on your skin can have a great impact on your energy and well-being. A significant part of what you put on your skin ends up in your bloodstream.

According to this article from the website School of Public Health at Harvard, “In the United States, the average person is exposed to more than a hundred chemicals from cosmetics, soaps, and other personal care products before leaving the house in the morning” (Roeder 2014).

Another Harvard article indicates that common chemicals in cosmetics interfere with hormones and can damage the nervous and immune system and may cause “unknown internal harm.”

Steer clear from skincare, cosmetics, and hair products containing paraben or sodium laurel sulfate (SLS) and choose deodorant without aluminum. I have used all-natural and organic products for the past twenty years and clearly feel the difference.

Your body can eliminate heavy metals and toxins ingested from beauty products or foods to a certain extent, but not, I believe, at the rate most people are exposed to. Better not to use your precious energy detoxing your body, when you can easily avoid harmful substances.

So I suggest having a look at the ingredients of the products you’re currently using, and switch to better alternatives if needed.

Have a day full of energy and inspiration!
