How to be grateful for the pain

Today is Thanksgiving in the US and that’s always a perfect day to think about gratitude.

I’ve hosted three Gratitude Projects and I highly believe in cultivating an attitude of gratitude. And I know it’s usually fairly easy to be grateful for the good stuff.

But what about the things we are not happy with? We can pretend the bad stuff isn’t there but that won’t make it go away.

Instead I recommend you to learn to be grateful for the pain, the sad stuff and the disappointments. Not in an attempt to ignore our hurt or pretend it isn’t impacting us. But to start the healing.
