5 Tips to Ensure you Tune in Daily

July 5, 2013

Lotus PositionIf you are like me you may sometimes find it difficult to take some time to tune in for yourself. For me I find this ironic, because most of the day I tune in for other people, assisting them with my intuitive insights. And interestingly enough it is not so evident that I do so for myself…

Funny if you remember that’s one of the things I do best. So I have made a plan to change that and make sure I really set aside some time every day to do energy work and tune in for myself. Because I know that when I do there is so much more of a flow, it enables me to focus my time and attention on what really needs to be done and serves me most. By tuning in daily I make sure that I am aligned and can take inspired actions. So I would like to share with you what I did to ensure I actually do this on a daily basis. So here are my 5 tips:

1. Make a commitment to really do this

Don’t just say it. Really believe it. And really make contact with what this will bring you if you persevere. So you are motivated to actually go through with it and do this every single day, no matter what.

2. Set a reminder on your phone to tune in at a certain time

Make sure this is a time you know you can do it at least 95% of the time. And be realistic. There’s no point in wishful thinking and choosing a time slot where you are barely back from bringing the kids to school, or your daily workout, or a shower or ….

3. Don’t allow yourself to go into your office and start up your computer before you have completed your tune in and energy work!

When I started doing this I noticed I got distracted and easily got sucked down the ‘email black hole’ and it derailed my day before I knew it. Time flies by answering emails and the next thing you know is you have a call with a client and basically the tune in never happens. So I am not allowing myself to go downstairs to my office and start up my computer before I have done this. And this includes not checking email on your phone! I’ve tried that a few times and that’ll make it much harder to concentrate and focus on your energy work. It is more likely you get distracted by all kinds of thoughts when you meditate, because you’re thinking about answering a certain email.

4. Schedule your day so it supports your intention

For me this means I am not working with clients before 11am. This allows me plenty of time to do some yoga, get showered and dressed, have breakfast and then tune in for myself and do my energy work, without having to stress about being on time. And I’m loving this new schedule! It gives me space and a place to really embed this into my routine. It has now become ‘part of it’ instead of something I had to add on and find some time for somewhere during the day.

5. Start a 40 day plan to keep you on track

Pick a meditation you like, a visualization or a mantra you want to work with. And commit to doing this for 40 days on a row. If you miss a day you have to start over again with day 1. Because you will need to rebuild the energy and the momentum. I feel this really gives me an extra motivation to stay on track because I don’t want to start all over again!

I hope these tips will help you to integrate energy work and daily tuning in for yourself. I know you will benefit greatly from doing so! For me this works great and it has really made a difference.
